Who Are We?Oblates of the Divine Mercy of Jesus Crucified |
| We are an association founded by Rev. Richard Clancy of the Archdiocese of Boston, MA. We were approved by Most Rev. William Murphy of Boston on May 3, 2001, as a Free Association of the Catholic Faithful. We are rooted in the Catholic Church and, therefore, loyal to both the Magisterium and the teachings of the Church. As such, any Catholic in good standing with the Church may join. We are Catholic Christians who want to grow closer to the Lord and grow in holiness. Together, we strive to live out our vocations while we grow in faith, receive spiritual nourishment and support each other. We seek the appropriate holiness of life for our state in life. We are clergy, married, single, widowed, and people of all ages and all socio-economic backgrounds. Fundamentally, we are men and women of prayer. We hold a particular devotion to Saint Sister Mary Faustina Kowalska, O.L.M. We ask for her intercession and follow her spirituality. This includes:
We make a promise to live a life of prayer, one appropriate to our vocation and our state in life. We practice this to the best of our ability, not under the penalty of sin. If possible, Oblates embrace a prayer life that includes:
Fundamentally, our spirituality is Eucharistic and Marian. We embrace Divine Mercy in prayer for ourselves, our families, our nation, and the whole world. Being an Oblate does not exclude one from other organizations, such as third orders. We are simply unified in our prayers and intentions. |
